About the Camp!

East Van Dance Summer Camp was founded by dance artists Gina Alpen and Charlotte Newman as a space to investigate and foster a love for creative expression. As dance teachers, Gina and Charlotte were inspired to build an intensive block of time - one week - for young movers to gather, share and explore new movement styles in a fun and welcoming environment. EVD Summer Camp is a great creative outlet for the young artist and energetic mover in your family - and what better way to burn off all that summer energy than at dance class!

Throughout the course of the week, participants will be exposed to a range of movement styles and craft projects each day. For example, a day may include T-shirt decorating + contemporary dance class in the morning, and jazz class with a guest teacher + choreography in the afternoon. All classes will be held in the Ukrainian Community Centre (805 East Pender), and weather permitting, we'll head over to the nearby park for lunch each day.

The last day of camp will culminate in a celebration of sharing as we invite family and friends to come check out all that we have been working on over the course of the week. Join us in building an engaged community of creative explorers as we learn, play and dance together this summer!

Upon registration, particpants will be sent a registration package including such details as when, where, what to bring and wear and more. If you have any questions before registering, don't hestiate to get in contact.
